- What is the target age range for Firelilies?
- 7-14yr old girls; opportunity for junior leaders between 12-14yrs old
- How often will meetings be held?
- 12 regular meetings per year, plus 4–5 structured outings. Community meetups encouraged!
- Are troops required to follow a strict outline to meetings?
- While there is an identity component to a Firelily meeting with prayer and song, we provide a long list of activity ideas so you can tailor feel of meetings to your unique troop.
- What does leadership structure look like?
- Led by parent volunteers. Opportunities for special guest speakers, outdoor guides, and invited clergy/religious sisters for faith-based enrichment.
- What materials or space do we need?
- Preference for outdoor settings to maintain a nature-based focus (e.g., parks, beaches, backyards). Materials will vary as activities are chosen uniquely by each troop. A storage box is recommended to easily locate and bring troop material, writing material, and printouts to meetings.
- Are there any badge or achievement systems or uniforms?
- Badges and uniforms are not required but offer good motivation. These items can be created on your own or purchased from the marketplace.
- How can we invite and include parents in the troop’s life?
- Volunteer opportunities, camping trip, casual family meetups.
- Will siblings be welcome at events?
This will vary on location.- Preferably it is a meeting for girls in the troop, however, this can remain flexible if older sisters want to help for meeting or there is a non distracting space for younger siblings to be while meeting is in session.
